War, what is it good for?
Making rich people richer by sacrificing poor people who have been brainwashed into thinking they're spreading "the good word" into primitive countries.
In reality going into war (especially for the "first world" soldiers) means using superior weapons to invade poorer countries. These invasions are never for the good of the public, they have always ended up with corrupt people in charge, who line their own pockets, with full support from countries who manufacture weapons, and believe they have some right to meddle with other nations. (If you can name a single case of these invasions actually leading to good, please comment.)
I believe it takes true strength, grace and courage to step away from war. I have tons more respect for Mahatma Gandhi or Martin Luther King than any general or soldier, wounded or not.
Look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_interventions_by_the_United_States and search for "U.S. military interventions since 1890" by Zoltan Grossman.
